Kurzfilme werden der breiten Öffentlichkeit präsentiert
In Mannheim hat die zehnte Auflage des Filmfestivals Girls Go Movie begonnen. Bildungsdezernentin Dr. Ulrike Freundlieb erinnerte bei der Auftaktveranstaltung auf dem Platz vor dem Haus Oberrhein an die Anfänge des Mannheimer Festivals, bei dem im Jahr 2003 erstmals filmbegeisterte Mädchen und junge Frauen aus dem Rhein-Neckar-Delta eingeladen waren ihre eigenen Kurzfilme zu drehen und diese einer größeren Öffentlichkeit zu präsentieren. Bei dem Festival Girls Go Movie handelt es sich um ein Projekt, das sich an Mädchen und Frauen im Alter von zwölf bis 27 Jahren richtet.
Bis zum 1. April können die Filmemacherinnen wie schon in den vergangenen Jahren ihre Filme bei dem Kurzfilmfestival einreichen. „Im Jubiläumsjahr wollen wir das Festival über die Region hinaus bekannt machen und damit den Filmstandort Mannheim weiter aufwerten“, kündigte die Bürgermeisterin an. Einmalig können Teilnehmerinnen aus ganz Baden-Württemberg und Rheinland-Pfalz in diesem Jahr Kurzfilme einreichen. „Damit setzen wir im Jubiläumsjahr ein Zeichen, dass trotz begrenzter Mittel dieses Festival in Mannheim gebraucht wird“, so die Bildungsdezernentin. Das Festival findet Ende Juni statt und bietet neben dem Filmscreening der eingereichten Filme und der Preisverleihung ein spannendes und informatives Rahmenprogramm.
Zusammenarbeit mit der Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg
„Wenn Sie sich die Festivalbeiträge der jungen Frauen anschauen, sind Sie berührt. Es gelingt ihnen, in ihren Filmen Fragen, Probleme und Glücksmomente in Bilder umzusetzen, die Sie begeistern werden“, betonte Bildungsbürgermeisterin Freundlieb und fügte hinzu, dass es etwas Besonderes ist, ein so wichtiges Festival in Mannheim zu haben.
Vom 1. November bis 1. April 2014 können die weiblichen Filmschaffenden ihre Filme in Zusammenarbeit mit der Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg drehen und produzieren. Alle filminteressierten Mädchen und Frauen von zwölf bis 27 aus der Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar können ein umfangreiches Unterstützungsangebot nutzen. Wer filmische Beratung und Begleitung von der Idee bis zum fertigen Film, Vermittlung von technischem Equipment oder praktische Anleitung und Unterstützung bei Dreh und Schnitt möchte, muss sich online unter www.girlsgomovie.de anmelden und kann danach Form und Umfang der Unterstützung mit einer der Film-Fachfrauen vereinbaren beziehungsweise die komplette technische Ausstattung kostenfrei ausleihen.

Für Nachwuchsfilmerinnen ab 18 Jahren aus ganz Baden-Württemberg und Rheinland-Pfalz wird zusätzlich erstmals ein Mentoring-Programm mit Studentinnen der Filmakademie Ludwigsburg aufgelegt. Girls Go Movie ist in dieser Form deutschlandweit einzigartig und bietet den Mädchen und Frauen die Chance, ohne Vorbehalte und Ängste kulturell und künstlerisch tätig zu werden, wie die Gründerin und Geschäftsführerin des Stadtjugendrings Mannheim, Karin Heinelt, betonte.
